Breitling watches usually are associated with planes and jets. Breitling also had collaborations with luxury motoring brands. We not so long ago reviewed the awesome Breitling Premier B01 Chronograph 42 Bentley British Racing Green celebrating Bentley luxury cars. During Baselworld 2019 Breitling announced the released of the new Premier B01 Chronograph 42 Norton Edition, celebrating the connection of with Norton, the iconic British motorcycle maker.

The Premier B01 Chronograph has a 42 mm diameter and 13.7 high stainless steel case. The lug-to-lug separation is 49.7 mm. The watch wears well on a 16 cm circumference wrist.

The brand partnership is materialized by a specific dial design of the Breitling watch. The Breitling Premier Bentley B01 Chronograph 42 Norton Edition adopts a reverse panda two register design in a compax layout. The main dial is matt black whereas the two subdial are silver color.

The counter 30min-subdial is located at 3 o'clock, whereas the running second subdial is located at 9 o'clock.

The central hour and minute golden hands adopt a pencil shape. It should be noticed that the apex of the golden counter second hand is painted in red color.

The hours are indicated by magnificent large applied golden Arabic numerals with black center. The minute track is printed in white color on a matt black dial.

A tachymetre scale is printed in black color on a silver ring surrounding the matt black dial. "TACHYMETER" is printed in red color on this ring.

A date window is located at 6 o'clock. The date is printed in silver color on a matt black background. The date window is thus well integrated into the dial design.

"CHRONOMETER" and "PREMIER" are printed in white color on the black dial above the date window.

The applied golden B logo is located below the 12 o'clock index. "BREITLING" and "1884" are printed in white color just above the central hand axis.

On the left flank of the case is located a plate with "Norton" carved in a stylish way. The Breitling Premier B01 Chronograph 42 Norton Edition is powered by the by the modern in-house B01 caliber. This self-winding column-wheel chronograph caliber with vertical clutch is COSC certified. It beats at 28'800 v/h, and has an up-to-date power reserve of 70 h. The movement can be seen through a sapphire case back. I appreciate the column wheel is clearly visible. A drawing of the Norton 961 Commando Café Racer MK II Breitling Limited Edition 2019 and "Norton" are printed in black color on the transparent case back. "BREITLING" and "CHRONOGRAPHE CERTIFIE CHRONOMETRE" are engraved and filled with golden color on the rotor.

The Premier Chronograph 42 Norton Edition comes on a a thick brown vintage raw-leather strap with white stitching. This strap goes very well with the watch color scheme and the motorcycle vibe.

This Norton Edition is an interesting variation of the Breitlin Premier B01 Chronograph. The retro-inspired bicker look is well made and quite appealing to be honnest. I really like the inverse panda compax layout, this is one of my favorite chronograph design. I also appreciate the large applied hour markers, this is someting we do not see often. The legibility of the white subdials is great, so those using the counter feature will satisfied. The leather strap looks awesome but is a bit stiff, so small wrists may struggle to wear the watch properly. Nevertheless the Breitling Premier B01 Chronograph 42 Norton Edition is a great looking watch, which deserve the attention not only of the bikers but also those loving the retro-inspired design.
