The new Omega Seamaster 007 is based on the lastest Omega Seamaster, and it is a limited edition containing some little details to connect with the James Bond franchise.

Sean Connery, Roger Moore, Pierce Brosnan and Daniel Craig are the most known James Bonds actors, but George Lazenby was playing the famous spy in the movie "On Her Majesty's Secret Service". I watched the movie when I was young and I enjoyed it. But I have to be honest, to me Emma Peel, or Diana Rigg if you prefer, was stealing the show. I was thus quite surprised when I heard Omega was releasing a Seamaster to celebrate this movie, as it is not the most known. I am however always excited to see the new Omega's model. And today I finally managed to get my hands on it. |

I recently reviewed the new Omega Seamaster 300M with grey dial. The new 007 Seamaster shares the same case. The Omega Seamaster 300M has a 42mm diameter and 13.5mm high stainless steel case, but it doesn't wear too large. It looks fine on a 16cm diameter wrist. The dial applied indices are round, except at 3 and 9 o'clock, where they are rectangular. A date window is located at 6 o'clock. A golden inverted "V" pattern is superimposed to the Seamaster double-rectangle index at 12 o'clock to recreate the Bond family coat-of-arms. 18K yellow gold is used for the hands, hour-markers and Bond family coat-of-arms. The watch has skeletonized hour and minutes hands and a lollipop second hand with a red-painted apex. |

The dial is not matt but has some shiny aspect. It is not exactly a radial sunburst dial. The external light is reflecting beautifully on the dial and is creating bright arches passing through the dial center. Look at the photos, you can clearly see this phenomenon. The most obvious 007 mark is located on the ceramic black dial. It is a spiral-brushed motif, that has been laser-engraved on the black ceramic dial. This spiral motif illustrates the internal gun-barrel design of the Bond gun, which has been seen numerous time during the opening of the James Bond movies. This spiral motif appears more or less clearly depending of the angle of the external light. I have to highlight that this is a light motif, it is not engraved as deeply as the wave pattern on the standard Seamater 300M. |

As mentioned before, the Bond arms and the spiral gun barel motif are reminding us that this is a Bond watch. There are also two additional hidden features. The first one is the number 50 hidden in the luminescent material of the 10 o'clock index. This is a reference to the 50th anniversary of the James Bond film "On Her Majesty's Secret Service". It can only be seen in the dark. The second hidden feature is the number 7 on the date disc. This number is printed using the 007 font. That means you will only be able to see this feature once a month. |

Like the classic Seamaster 300M, the unidirectional flat bezel insert is made of polished ceramic. The graduations are filled with white enamel. The helium escape valve is conical and is located on the side of the case at 10 o'clock. A 18K yellow gold plate is fixed on the side of the case. The watch number is engraved on it. "Only" 7,007 pieces of this watch will be released.

The watch is powered by a modern in-house co-axial 8800 caliber. This caliber has a master Chronometer certification, approved by META, it is resistant to 15,000 gauss magnetic field and it has a power reserve of 55h. The movement has a sprung balance with silicon balance spring and rhodium-plated finish with Geneva waves. The watch features hours, minutes, seconds and date complications. The movement can be seen through a transparent caseback, but the metalised in gold and black Bond family coat-of-arms and family moto "Orbis-non-sufficis" (The world is not enough) are printed on the inner side of the sapphire crystal caseback. Is also written "WE HAVE ALL THE TIME IN THE WORLD".

The watch comes on a black rubber strap or a steel bracelet, having five brushed links, two of those have polished lines on the sides. Omega usually pays attention to the packaging of its Limited Edition watches. This is also the case here. The Bond watch is delivered in a fancy black box featuring the spiral gun barrel pattern and the bullet head buttons.

If my AD didn't have shown me the hidden number 50 in the 10 o'clock index and the specific font of the date "7", I don't know how long I would have needed to figure it out. I think it is a nice touch. I enjoyed to find the Bond family coat of arms in the modified 12 o'clock index and printed on the transparent case back, so British. It reminds me of the University of Oxford. The watch caliber is up-to-date, Certified Master Chronometer, approved by METAS.
I tried the watch on rubber strap. I is comfortable, but I prefer the steel bracelet, which is delivered in the box. It is a very versatile watch. There are numerous Omega Nato straps, that go very well with the watch. Just check on the Omega website. As often people will complain about the prominent helium escape valve, but it is now part of the watch design. People will also complain about the so-called "Limited Edition", that is limited to 7'007 pieces. Let's be honest, with this large number, this watch is more a Time-Limited Edition than a Limited Edition. But I can already tell you that my AD already filled its waiting list. You will struggle to get one if you didn't take your dispositions.

I thought my favorite Seamaster was the Omega Seamaster 300M Grey dial,
I was mistaken. I changed my mind since I saw the new James Bond Omega Seamaster 300M. I looks elegant and sporty at the same time, like James Bond is.
I have now to go back to my AD and beg him to get me one.
