A 300M diver with a awesome sunburst dark-blue gradient dial and a dark blue ceramic bezel insert.
Another great looking and great value-proposition modern diver watch produced by Oris.
Oris is producing some of the most interesting value-proposition diver watches on the market.
The Aquis line is the Oris modern diver line in contrast with the Oris Divers Sixty-Five, that focuses on retro-inspired diver watches. The new Oris Aquis Clean Ocean Limited Edition has been released to support Oris partnership with the Pacific Garbage Screening. This pioneering young organisation has for objective to develop new technologies to capture waste plastic before it reaches the oceans.
The watches of the Aquis collection adopt a modern diver design.
The previous models have been released in two diameter cases, 39.5 mm and 43.5 mm.
The Oris Aquis Clean Ocean Limited Edition has a 39.5 mm diameter and 14.2 mm thick stainless steel case. The lug bending is quite pronounced and the lug-to-lug separation is only 46.1 mm. The watch wears very well on a 16 cm circumference wrist.
The case is polished finished on top and has satin-brushed finished flanks.
The Oris Aquis Clean Ocean Limited Edition has a striking sunburst ocean-blue fumé dial.
The dial is brighter in the middle than on the border, which is almost dark blue.
The watch has a unidirectional rotating polished steel bezel with a polished ceramic insert.
This inset has a dark blue color, matching the dial border color.
The minute track and the Arabic numeral on the bezel are printed in white color.
A lume pip in a red triangle is located at the bezel 12 o'clock.
The minute track is printed in white color on the dial,
whereas the hours are indicated by applied faceted markers.
The hands and the applied hour markers are all filled with Super-LumiNova.
A date window is located at 6 o'clock.
The date is painted in silver color on a black background.
The date window is thus not too intrusive.
"AQUIS", "PRESSURE RESISTANT" and "30BAR 300M" are printed in white color on the dial above the date window.
"ORIS" is printed in white color on the dial below the 12 o'clock hour marker.
The watch is powered by an Oris 733 caliber, which is based on the Sellita SW200-1.
This caliber is similar to the ETA 2824-2 caliber.
This self-winding caliber is beating at 28'800 v/h and has a 38 hour power reserve.
This is not much for actual standards.
There is no transparent caseback but a stainless steel one. The Oris red rotor is thus not visible.
The steel caseback is supporting a unique colorful medallion realised with recycled PET bottles.
This means that every watch will have a different pattern on its caseback.
"ORIS OCEAN LIMITED EDITION" and the watch number (N° XXX/2000) are engraved on the caseback around the medallion.
The watch comes on an integrated stainless steel 3-link bracelet. The case lugs are thick, that means it is not possible to replace the steel bracelet with a conventional leather strap.
It is however possible to purchase Oris proprietary straps to replace the steel bracelet.
The central link is satin-brushed finished, whereas the side links are polished.
The steel bracelet is closed by a twin-trigger deployent clasp with a 5 mm dive extension.

Verdict
As usual I have to admit that Aquis Clean Ocean Limited Edition is another great value-proposition diver watch from Oris.
Modern design, ceramic bezel, fumé sunburst blue dial, sellita caliber, steel bracelet, 300 M water resistance for around 2'000 euros,
difficult to find better at this price range.
The watch has a 40 mm diameter that will suit large and small wrists.
To my opinion this is the best size for a three hand diver watch.
The pattern on the case back is colorful and looks fun.
I have to praise Oris for supporting water pollution issues all over the world.
The Oris Aquis Clean Ocean Limited Edition is a cool sporty watch, especially for summer.
A watch that will for sure disappear very fast from your AD display.
