Tudor puts a faded grey dial in a bronze case to create watch, that will soon get the look of an adventurous vintage-diver.

The Black Bay Heritage is one of the most popular segments of the Tudor watches. The first models had a 41mm steel case and differently colored bezels. In 2016 Tudor released the first version of the Heritage Black Bay with a 43mm bronze case. Since then few variations have been produced, one with a blue dial and another with a brown dial. During Baselworld 2016, Tudor presented this latest version of the Heritage Black Bay Bronze, that is edited with a gradient faded grey dial. |

The Tudor black Bay Heritage watches usually have a uniformly colored dial, except this 79250BA reference. The watch dial has, what I call, a gradient faded grey dial. It is like its black dial was discolored by heavy sunshine. The dial has in its center a light grey color, that becomes darker on the side. The dial has round markers and 3-6-9 numerals with gold borders at the corresponding positions. |

As every Black Bay models, the watch has typical Tudor snowflake hands. The bronze case is 43mm diameter. That may seems to be a bit large but it fits fine even for small 16cm wrists. The watch has a unidirectional rotable bezel in bronze with 60-minute graduated disc in matt slate grey anodised aluminium. The minutes are painted in bronze color on the bezel. |

The watch has a dome sapphire top crystal. The watch is available with a black nubuck leather strap with light stiches or slate grey fabric strap with bronze buckle. |

On diplay, the Tudor Black Bay Bronze Slate Grey Dial seems to have leave some adventures in comparison with the Tudor Black Bay Bronze with "uniform" brown dial.

Verdict
I am a big fan of the Tudor Black Bay heritage models. I however have to say that
the first time I saw the Tudor Black Bay Bronze Slate Grey Dial, I was not really enthusiastic.
I think I was at that time too much used to the Black Bay watches having a clean and shinny dials.
I am saying that because when I saw the watch a second time few weeks after (yes, don't expect this watch to stay
long on display) I found it quite cool. The faded dial has its own charm.
I don't like my leather jackets to look brand new, I like them to have some scratches and marks.
It is the same with this watch. The faded dial gives the impression the watch went through a lot of adventures and survived.
I think it is a great idea from Tudor to put this dial in a bronze case. Not right now when the watch is brand new and the case is still shinny, but when the case will age and oxidize, it will get some patina and the watch will look great with a faded grey dial. It is a fast way to make a watch, that looks like a vintage piece without to have to wait for 30 years long. The Tudor Black Bay Bronze Slate Grey Dial is definitively a piece to consider for those who want a watch that says "I went though a lot and I am ready to take more".
