BASELWORLD, PREDICTIONS
Rolex predictions for Baselworld 2020
These are the dream watches we would like to see announced at the event

Baselworld will take place in scheculed this year from the 30th of April to the 5th of May.
The main reason watch enthousiats are waiting for this envent is to discover what original products will release Rolex.
The current hype on Rolex watches is so high that Rolex does not need to announce anything but that would be terribly disappointing for the Rolex fan base.
The Paris Timekeeper had a thought about it. We have no insider informations or any connexion with Rolex,
but there are Rolex watches we would dream to see released. Our objective is not announce a "new" black Submariner with a new caliber,
or a black GMT with a jubilee bracelet, but instead to propose new declinasons as original as the Submariner Hulk and GMT Batman were at the time they were released.
Watch industry is quite (very) conservative and watch development very expensive. Would it be possible to create new fancy Rolex models with limited technologic developments to maximise the "bang-for-buck" ratio?
That is our challenge.

ROLEX SKY-DWELLER VIPERS: GREEN DIAL, WHITE GOLD BEZEL
We are worrying that the Rolex Submariner Hulk is unfortunately discontinuated befaore we manage to get your hands on one.
We are so fond of Rolex green dial watches, that we cannot accept there is not any green Rolex available.
Rolex did a green job with the Sky-Dweller blue dial.
We would thus dream to see a steel Sky-Dweller with a sunburst emerald dial.
For sure it would be a hit.
• Case: Existing steel Sky-Dweller case (White gold version great too)
• Dial: New sunburst Emerald (declination of the Sky-Dweller sunbust blue dial)
• Bezel: Existing Sky-Dweller white gold steel bezel

ROLEX SUBMARINER PHANTOM: BLACK DIAL, PURPLE BEZEL
With a discontinuated Submariner Hulk, the Submariner line would be a bit dull.
Let's take the purple/blue color of the GMT Pepsi to male a full ceramic bezel for the black dial Submariner.
The Submariner Phantom would be borned.
• Case: Existing Submariner steel case
• Dial: Existing Submariner black dial
• Bezel: New purple ceramic bezel ("blue" color of the GMT Pepsi bezel)

ROLEX SUBMARINER GREEN GOBLIN: PURPLE DIAL, GREEN BEZEL
We definitively cannot accept that the Submariner Hulk is discontinuated. We also loved the Submariner Kermit.
Let's take the Submariner green bezel and use a sunburst dark purple dial to make the Submariner Green Gobelin.
The purple dialcolor has been observed on some vintage Submariner Bluezzy, when the blue dial is oxydized.
Overall this new watch would be the gorgeous young sister of the Submariner Hulk and Kermit.
• Case: Existing Submariner steel case
• Dial: New Submariner sunburst purple dial (color declination of the Sub Hulk)
• Bezel: Existing green ceramic bezel (Submariner Hulk)

ROLEX SUBMARINER VISION: GREEN DIAL, GREEN BEZEL, GOLD CASE
Until now we focused on steel cases, th emost popular ones. The Submariner is currently available in yellow gold case,
with blue dial and bezel, or black dial and bezel. It is a bit dull or conservative, isn't it?
At least the yellow gold GMT 50th anniversary was available with a black bazel and a green dial.
We believe a full yellow gold Submariner Hulk would be a stunning model.
In order the steel Hulk and the yellow gold Hulk do not have exchangeable parts (as Rolex makes sure of),
we modified the color background of the bezel lume pip triangle, it is now red.
The same feature has been observed on the
Tudor Black Bay Fifty-Eight
.
Yellow, green and a bit of red... that's the Marvel Vision color scheme.
It would be for sure another amazing release from Rolex.
• Case: Existing Submariner yellow gold case
• Dial: Existing Submariner sunburst green dial (Submariner Hulk)
• Bezel: Existing green ceramic bezel (Submariner Hulk), red triangular marker

ROLEX GMT II GREEN HORNET: BLACK DIAL, GREEN-BLACK BEZEL
Rolex is the reason why the green color is currently so popular in the watch design.
The GMT II Expresso or Black-black-black has a green GMT hand but that was not enought for us.
We would love to see a two-color green-black bezel.
Would it look good? Oh yes, it does !
• Case: Existing GMT steel case
• Dial: Existing GMT black dial
• Bezel: New green-black ceramic GMT bezel (color declination of the GMT Batman)
|
|
|
ROLEX GMT II DEADPOOL: BLACK DIAL, RED-BLACK BEZEL
We are not going to be original on this one, and quite conservative.
After the Rolex GMT Pepsi, everybody is waiting for a GMT Coke, that we prefer to call Deadpool:
A black dial GMT with a Red-Black bezel.
A sporty-nasty watch. We love it.
• Case: Existing GMT steel case
• Dial: Existing GMT black dial
• Bezel: New red-black ceramic GMT bezel (color declination of the GMT Batman)

ROLEX EXPLORER II ORCA: WHITE DIAL, BLACK BEZEL
The weak point of the Explorer II is the painting of the bezel numbers that is not very resistant.
That the reason why many watch enthousiasts are waiting for an Explorer with a ceramic bezel.
We would really like to be produced an Explorer II Orca; a Rolex Explorer II Polar (white dial) with a non-rotating
black ceramic bezel. Another point, we really prefer the design of the 40mm Exlorer II to the one of the 42mm one.
• Case: Existing Explorer II 40mm steel case
• Dial: Existing Explorer II 40mm white dial
• Bezel: Existing GMT black ceramic bezel

ROLEX DAYTONA PAUL NEWMAN II: WHITE DIAL, BLACK SUBDIALS
We have never been so fond of the Rolex Daytona dial in the steel verions.
We especially find the legibility of the sub-dials quite limited.
It would be so easy to improve it by uniformely painting the sub-dials.
That has been done for the gold Oysterflex verions, why not for the white dial?
A modern version of the Paul Newman Daytona, who wouldn't love it?
• Case: Existing Daytona steel case
• Dial: Existing Daytona white dial, new subdial color (seen on gold Osterflex models)
• Bezel: Existing Daytona ceramic bezel
