Omega is releasing a new variation of the Seamater 300M diver.

the partnershipt of Omega and the Nekton foundation committed to the protection and management of the world’s oceans.
A stunning piece.

The Seamaster 300M is with the Speedmaster, one of the most appealing collections produced Omega.
I really enjoyed the previous models I got in my hands; the Seamaster 300M grey dial,
the Seamaster 300M 50th Anniversary Of "On Her Majesty's Secret Service".
Seamaster 300M titanium James Bond 007 Edition,
and the Seamaster 300M White Dial.
They are all fantastic watches, with their own identity.
So when I heard a new model was coming, I could not resist.
I had to go to my AD to discover it.
Omega produced this new Seamaster to honour the work of the Nekton foundation in the protection and management of the oceans.

The Omega Seamaster 300M Nekton has a 42 mm diameter and 14 mm high stainless steel case.
The lug-to-lug separation is only 48 mm.
The watch wears well on a 16 cm circumference wrist.

The dial arrangement is similar to the one of the other current Seamaster models.
The indices are round, except at 3 and 9 o'clock, where they are rectangular and at 12 o'clock where the index is composed of two rectangles.
The indices are surrounded by black-painted metal.
The only difference with the standard Seamaster is that there is no date window,
like it is also the case for the Seamaster 300M titanium James Bond 007 Edition.

The Seamaster 300M Nekton has a matte black ceramic dial, with an engraved polished wave pattern.
In fact the matte finish makes the dial color appearing more dark grey than black to be honest.
The Zr02 ceramic composition is written on the dial, just below the central axis.

The Ω logo and "OMEGA" are printed in white color just below the 12 o'clock hour index.
Just below is printed in red color "Seamaster" and "PROFESSIONAL" in white color again.

The most obvious modification of the Nekton watch in comparison of the other Seamaster 300M is visible on the unidirectional bezel.
No ceramic bezel here, but a stainless steel bezel with a titanium bezel.
The insert is sand-brushed finished and the Arabic numerals and minute track are polished.
A luminescent lume pip in a triangle is located at the 60 position.

The watch is powered by a modern in-house co-axial 8806 caliber.
This self-winding beats at 25'200 v/h and has a power reserve of 55 h.
The caliber has a master Chronometer and METAS certification.
Its accuracy is within the +5/0 seconds per day range on average.
The caliber is also anti-magnetic and resistant to 15'000 gauss magnetic field.

The Calibre 8806 is decorated with Geneva waves in arabesque and rhodium-plated rotor and bridges but it is unfortunately not possible to see it.
The watch has a stainless steel case back with engraved in its center the image of the Nekton submarine.
The watch has a 300M water resistance, as mentioned on the case back.

The watch comes on a black rubber strap with stainless steel deployant buckle.
The classic Seamaster stainless steel bracelet is also available.
This bracelet has five brushed links, two of those have polished lines on the sides.
The twin-trigger release deployant clasp has a diver extension as well a push-button slider to adjust the bracelet length over 9 mm.

Verdict
The Omega Seamaster 300M is to my opinion the most appealing diver watch in its price range.
COST and METAS certified caliber and awesome look for 6'000 €, you cannot go wrong with any of the watch collection.
Talking about the look, there are many variations I love, but the Nekton Seamaster is now my favorite one.
The dial looks very clean, it was a great idea to remove the date feature.
But what I like the most is the contrast between the matte black dial, the hour makers and the shiny tinanium bezel.
It enhances the dial legibility and it looks awesome.
The red lollipop and dial writing even give a sporty look to the watch.
I am glad Omega used a titanium insert instead of a white Gold one they previously used on the neo-vintage
Omega Seamaster 300M 2236.50 and Seamaster 2533.50.00 America's cup.
Rolex even used full gold or platinum bezel for the Yatchmaster but the bezel is thus becoming a beautifull scratch magnet very expensive to replace.
The Seamaster Nekton is and should remain a tool watch, the titanium bezel texture and shine of the Seamaster has nothing to envy to a noble metal one.
I didn't find Omega was communicating much on this model, it is really a pity,
this watch really looks fantastic. The watch is not a limited edition but I don't expect it to be produced
for a long period.
The Seamaster Nekton is definitively another great watch to consider in the Omega catalogue.
